Please remember I will be at camp next week from Tuesday to Friday.  Please make sure you have enough work to go on with.   The Pythagoras class will be on Monday in block two.

CHALLENGE
Can you solve the following problem using a simultaneous equation?

Here is a simple puzzle:  If I double David’s age and add it to Jena’s age the result is fourteen and if I add 7 to David’s age it is the same as three times Jena’s age.  Find their ages.  The information in this puzzle can be written in two equations as follows:


 2x +   y = 14
   x  - 3y = -7

Remember you can choose to solve it using the elimination or substitution method.
